On May 2, Junior Jordan Serafimovski was able to go down to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s office. Junior Jordan Serafimovsk was rewarded for his video submission which garnered attention towards school violence.

Harmony highs. Rehearsing their songs for the Michigan School Vocal Music Association All-State-Festival, the Women’s Chorus Blue Ensemble perform for choir teacher Julia Holt. To make it to the festival, ensemble members previously competed in the state solo and ensemble festival. “It (rehearsals) can be stressful but in the best way because we’re all learning songs that we know we’re going to sound great for in the end. And we all work really hard to get where we are,” junior ensemble member Raegan McCloud said.
Eagles reach All-State status

On media day, Macomb United skaters from Eisenhower High School take their photo. After three preliminary team competitions, skaters from Macomb United High School’s team B and C figure skating qualified for states. It’s just good to see them (skaters) get out of their comfort zone too because a lot of kids are not confident with getting in front of judges and getting on the ice on their own. So actually seeing them do that when there’s more pressure (or) when they might be more anxious is very rewarding because they’re growing up as skaters and as human beings,” Suburban Macomb and Rochester Ice Center figure skating coach Devin Prasatek said.

Embracing change. Mysliu adapts to change when she moves with her family to America. After her family decided to make the big move Mysliu had to find ways to adjust to a new school atmosphere. The school where she started here at first was not a good fit for her and it made her feel very uncertain about living here, after 3 years I see Marina doing very well in all life aspects,’’ Marinas mother Elona Mysliu said.

After winning first place for both the jazz and pom category, junior Aubrey Bowen celebrates her win with the junior varsity team. “She [Bowen] loves the team, and involves herself in lots of team bonding events,” Bowen’s Mom, Mellisa Mulville-Bowen said. Occasionally, Bowen hosted the teams bonding events and offered anything possible for her teams success.
